Hack in a bottle

Last sunday, I visited Nandi Hills with friends. The weather was awesome and the cold breeze was making it even better.

Sometimes animals do amazing things that surprise you about their intelligence. Here is one of them:

We bought Maaza as we were thirsty after some trek on top of the hills. I had the last sip and as we started again on our walk, I noticed a monkey coming towards me with an aggressive expression on his face.

I figured the reason pretty quickly and threw the bottle in my hand. It quickly picked it up and gave another “Dont you dare try to take that from me” look, ran to a near by stone bench. What followed was pure genius. Here is a monkey’s hack on how to open a Maaza bottle and drink its contents  in less than 3 minutes:

Step 1: Use the teeth to remove some part of the label

Step 2:Remove half the label on the bottle to get a better leg grip to hold the bottle.

Step 3: Hold the bottle with leg (Addessive used to stick label helps to get a better grip) and use the hand to remove the cap. Pour some of the contents on the stone bench.

Step 4: Enjoy the drink. Yes, there is a better way to drink without wasting much. May be it will be a hack version 2.0 for this smart money.

Step 5: Be quick on your toes when there is competition. The picture below does not show another monkey that was approaching to feast on the mango drink.

I was kicking myself after realizing why I had not used the video mode in my camera.
